Zineb Benalla in an international expert and consutant in CVE, PVE, CT and Peace Building who spent years working in VE hotspots in the Maghreb, Sahel , and the Middle East.
Zineb Benalla was a consultant to USAID /OTI and AECOM International Development in Bamako, Gao, and Timbuktu in peace building reconciliation and CVE working with civil society, community engagement and policy makers doing Action research and implementing projects. Prior to that Ms. Benalla worked with the Arab Center for Scientific Research and Human Studies on promoting freedom, peace and civil society values in the Middle East/North Africa, she founded the Averoes Academy for Freedom and Democracy at the Arab Center which is a Public Policy School and which is still empowering today youth around the MENA region. She has also been involved as a CVE advisor to International Organization on Migration (IOM) in Niger. During six months she conducted research, identified youth at risk and helped implementing CVE activities in Agadez, Diffa and Niamey. She provided her CVE experience to shape approaches and activities development to the NCCI program in Niger , a USAID/OTI project implemented by IOM. She was a Consultant as a field researcher to the British Council in Morocco on building community resilience in the North of Morocco.
She was part of the research team of Mercy Corps which examined lessons from violence prevention programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and apply those lessons to violence prevention in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). She was also Consultant to USAID/Creative Associates Nigeria Program to develop a regional CVE Network ( Niger. Nigeria, Cameron, Chad and Mali). She also lead a research in the North of Morocco and in the Rif Mountains with the Research Security Unit at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in the UK. She was a consultant to USAID/OTI in Ghana regional mission on a project in the Lake Chad Basin helping establishing a platform to CVE/and CT in the four countries (Niger, Nigeri, Chad, and Cameroon) focusing on the Lake Chad Basin area.
Zineb Benalla is the CEO and Founder of Eirene Associates. Int which is the first an international development and security company in Morocco , she is also the co founder of a Think tank working on transnational violence and CVE and a Co founder of a peace building network ( a civil society network).
Zineb Benalla holds a bachelor degree in International Relations from Alakhawayn University in Morocco and Georgetown University in the US, She holds a law Degree in International Law from Kent Law School and Brussels School of International Studies, and a diploma in Terrorism studies from St Andrews University in Scotland.
Zineb worked and lived in the five continent she is s passionate about civil society and community work.
Dr Gustave Gaye is an assistant professor in the department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Maroua in Cameroon.
He holds a Doctorate in Development Studies; he focuses on violence and armed conflict in extreme poverty context.
Nana Alassane TOURE (Mali) is a sociologist by training and an expert is practices and policies in International Development She is a researcher and author of texts on issues of Governance, Violent Extremism, Peace and Security ... She is also a Trainer of Trainers in Human Rights and active in Youth Organizations in Mali and in Africa.
Nana Toure holds a bachelor degree in sociology from University of Bamako in Mali, Masters degree in decentralisation and local development form the Institute of territorial development, a diploma in methods of scientific research from Colombia University in New York and an Executive masters in politics and practices in development from The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
Lantana has extensive experience working in the Nigerian non-profit and peace building sector. Previously, she worked with Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Nigeria managing several grants in the Middlebelt and Northeast funded by the US State Department and European Union. She was also responsible for managing SFCG’s local office and establishing good working relationship with the diverse local stakeholders and actors. Lantana has been involved in many research and evaluations within Africa such as UNICEF’s Analysis of the Situation of Children Affected by Armed Conflict in the Niger Delta and the Northern Region of Nigeria; and the USAID’s Early Warning Response Design Support (EWARDS) in Nigeria and Ghana. Lantana currently leads a local women-focused organization known as Women for Positive Peacebuilding Initiative and heads the Program design of the Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency. Lantana has just been selected as an African Fellow of the King Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, Vienna, Austria
Dr Olga Kyryliuk is An experienced advocate and trainer, with interests ranging from law and technology to Internet freedom and cyber security. Possess a broad range of abilities, including multiple languages, as well as research and analytical skills. Author of more than 30 articles and publications. Expert of the Ukrainian Association of International Law.
Dr Olga has a Phd in International Law Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv She hold a diploma in Chinese Language from Beijing Language and Culture University
She worked as a Legal Analyst (Housing, Land and Property) with the Danish Refugee Council . She co founded and NGO “Digital Defenders Partners”
She previously was an Expert at The Council of Europe Office in Ukraine And Consulted within the joint CoE-EU project "Strengthening Information Society in Ukraine", prepared analytical reports on legal remedies for protecting human rights online and on integration of Ukraine into European information environment, completed legislation and court practice reviews, organized trainings, advised on amendments to national legislation on data protection and cybersecurity, proofread translations.
Yasmin Faruki is a 2017-2018 Boren Fellow and Fulbright awardee to Jordan focused on youth empowerment and countering violent extremism policy. Based in Amman, Jordan, Yasmin works at the United Nations Development Program on a project aimed at mitigating the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis on vulnerable Jordanian host communities. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science in Regional & Comparative Studies and will complete her Master of Arts in Security Studies in December 2018. Yasmin is a certified speaker of Arabic after three years of intensive language study and extensive travel to the Levant.
Yassine Maghnouj is passionate about business development. He holds a Master degree from France in Marketing and Sales and developed the (Chaque Canette Compte) can recycling project In 2012 he moved to China and got his second Master degree in Marketing and innovation and started a language School.
He has written about consumer behavior and infant formula milk in Chinese market and worked in many positions as part time or during the summer (foreign relations manager, cashier, language teacher, event organizer, driver, sales man...).
Since then he has pitched on several events and won the Second place worldwide on Future Agro tech in Colombia on a Get In the Ring contest I pitched also on the MEDSPRING in Italy on MIT for refugees in Bahrain and several other worldwide events and competitions and I’ve been a speaker and mentor at the Algeria Entrepreneurship Summer School as well as a judge for Enactus Morocco.
He co-founded Startup Altitude to promote youth entrepreneurship in Morocco, Africa and the Mena region and build cross border collaboration between investors, researchers and policy makers.
Denis Emilien Atangana holds a bachelor in political science from the University of Yaounde, he has a certificate in public management from the regional Center Yali Dakar in partnership with CESAG . He is the president CERAD and member of the scientific committee of political dialogue of the Friederich Nauman foundation.
Has more than 19 years of experience in projects and programs of development, humanitarian, governance and social cohesion. Since 2014 he has been fully involved in the fight against violent extremism, radicalization leading to violence and other destabilizing conflicts such as the stigmatization of certain ethnic groups who in the long run end up in the violent extremist. Since 2015 he has been the President of the Community Coalition for Peace and the Promotion of Living Together (COPAVE), he has participated actively in regional workshops on the Prevention and the Fight Against Violent Extremism. Harouna Abdoulaye participated as a panelist at the United Nations General Assembly on the process of Rehabilitation and Reintegration of ex-violent Extremist, in which he specializes today. He is also a facilitator and advisor in leadership and is experienced in community mobilization.
Abdallah Laassiri was born in 1979, Kenitra where he pursued his University studies He obtained his BA degree in Religious studies in 2002 with a distinction at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities, Ibn Tofail University. Then, he moved to study at Mohammed V University, Rabat. He graduated in 2004 with a distinction. Then, he got his Ph.D. in 2004 in Religious Studies and Intercultural Dialogue with a distinction. Mr.Laassiri is the president and also the founder of " Wisdom Center for Religious Studies and Intercultural Dialogue ." Mr.Laassiri is Vice President of " the Moroccan Association of Islamic Education Professors" he is an active member in the youth association and the association of supporting the family of Kenitra, and he has participated in many national and international seminars and meetings about religious studies and intercultural dialogue, and And the ways to encounter violent extremism. He also participated in the exchange program " Moroccan Religious Scholars-Leaders Study program " at the University of Georgetown in the USA.
MAHAMAT MAMDOU ELAPHI is a jurist by training, researcher and Ph.D. student in law at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Senegal, he holds a Master II in Public Management and International Relations and another in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action. In addition, he is the Regional Head of the Association for the Development Support Project in Chad and is coordinating the Save Lake Chad Organization, in which he is the initiator. He is a young leader in Chad his contribution to the promotion of peace, respect for human rights and the fight against violent extremism in the Lake Chad Basin is considerable.
